GREEN STREET

Green Street is a little community North East of Burnt Corn. Green Street is where a slave owner by the name of Enoch Salter purchased a slave by the name of Fannie (McCarter) Lee for $2000.00 and her son Allen McCarter for $200.00. This community is also believe to be site where John Green settled and started the the first public school in Burnt Corn and Conecuh County, sometime referred to as,Student Retreat Today, The Green Street community consist primarily of African American citizens today.
