Margret "Maggie" (Marshall) Powers
Margaret Marshall Powers was the tenth child born to Nellie and George. She attended the local schools and joined Bethany Baptist Church. She married George Powers, and they made their home in New York City, There she worshipped at Abysinnian Baptist Church where Adam Clayton Powell was the pastor.Margaret worked as a sales clerk in a department store and played for the church choir. She performed a piano concert at Carnegie Hall. She and her husband had no children, however, she claimed all her nieces and nephews as her own and each Christmas mailed gifts all over the country to each of them.
