Nancy Fowler
Nancy Fowler (Purvis) of Burnt Corn, Alabama owned quite a large plantation about five miles south of Burnt Corn on the old "Stage Road". She owned quite a number of slaves and managed the farm herself. Her husband Hickory Fowler had died many years earlier. Nancy was a successful business woman and managed her farm very successful. She raised a large family and among them were: Dr. Richard Fowler, William Fowler, Eliza Fowler, Patty Fowler, and Mamie Fowler.
