Roberta McMillan

Roberta was the fourth child born to Nettle and George Marshall. She joined the Bethany Baptist Church and attended the local schools and attended Tuskegee Institute, she later married Charles Ridgill, after his death, she married Ezell McMillan. Roberta's descendants include college professors and doctors. Her daughter Theola Preyear resided in Monroeville, Alabama.


Charles Ridgill, Sr.
She married Charles Ridgill of Manning, South Carolina and they moved to Wheeling, West Virginia.
Four children were born to this couple; they are: Theola Ridgill Preyer, Charles Ridgill, Jr., George Ridgill, and Nellie Mae Ridgill Stallworth. Charles died at an early age and Roberta and her four children moved back to Burnt Corn, Alabama.


Ezell McMillan
Roberta married Ezell McMillan and two children were born to this union: Fate McMillan and Dubois McMillan.


Theola Ridgill Preyer
Theola Ridgill Preyer

Theola is the first born child of Roberta Marshall Ridgill and Charles David Ridgill, Sr. he was born June 8, 1914, in Atmore, Alabama. As a young child, Theola lived in Wheeling, West Virginia with her mother and siblings (Charles David, Jr. (CD) and George). After her father's death, Theola, along with her mother and siblings moved to Burnt Corn, Alabama to live with George and Nellie Marshall. At the time of her father's death, Mother Roberta was expecting her fourth child, and Nellie Mae was born after they returned to Burnt Corn. After a few years, Mother Roberta married Ezell McMillan and moved to Akron, Ohio. However, the Ridgill children remained in Burnt Corn with Grandpa George and Grandma Nellie. Fate (FB) and Dubois were the sons born to the union of Roberta and Ezell. Theola attended schools in Conecuh and Monroe counties. She joined the Bethany Baptist Church.

Theola married Prince Preyer, Sr. on January 28, 1934, in Burnt Corn in the "well kept" yard of her Aunt Irene Tait. She and Prince made their home in Monroeville, Alabama where they became active members of the Morning Star Baptist Church. Together they had 6 children: Prince Jr., Willie (Pat), Charles, Johnny, Ann, and Mary Louise. Charles died as a young child. They were always the proudest, most loving and caring parents to their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their spouses. Prince and Theola were married for 61 years until he passed away on January 28, 1995,


Prince Preyer, Jr
Prince Preyer, Jr. is 1st first and the oldest son of Theola and Prince, Sr. He was born December 8, 1934. Prince Jr. graduated from Monroeville Rosenwald High, Alabama A&M University, Tuskegee Institute, and Iowa State University where he completed his Ph.D. He married Mary Savage in 1962 and they had one son, Prince Anthony III, born in 1964. Prince taught in Dallas County Public schools before accepting a position at Alabama A & M University. After retiring with over 18 years of teaching at A&M, he was elected to the Madison County (Alabama) Commission, District 6. He has proudly served his Huntsville community in this capacity for the past 16 years.


Prince Anthony Preyer, III
Prince Anthony Preyer, III is the only child of Prince, Jr., and Mary. Anthony attended schools in both Huntsville, Alabama and Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Alabama A&M in 1997. He is currently a high school agribusiness teacher with the Madison County, Alabama school system. Anthony is a graduate student at Alabama A&M University. Anthony has one daughter, Desiree who was born in 1982. He is married to Debbie (Brandon and they had three sons: Decoruise, born December 3, 1985, and is a 2004 high school graduate,. Kirsten, who is deceased, was born in December 1990. Devin Larry Prince was born on June 2, 1996.


Willie "Pat" Preyer
Willie (Pat) Preyer I s the 2nd-second born son to Theola and Prince, Sr. He was born on October 27, 1937. Pat graduated from Monroeville Rosenwald High School in 1956 and Alabama A&M University in 1963. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Cuban Crisis. Pat taught in the Belmont, North Carolina school system before becoming a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. Pat married Mary Grier in 1967 (she passed in December 1988 and they had one daughter: Millicent Diane. Pat and his family live in Charlotte, North Carolina. His youngest child, Tristian, was born on August 1, 1992.


Millicent Diane Preyer Boyd
Millicent Diane Preyer Boyd is the oldest child of Willie (Pat) Preyer. She was born on June 10, 1968. she graduated from South Mecklenburg High school in 1986.Diane is currently employed with the school system in Clover, South Carolina. Alicia is the only child of Diane and Denorris Boyd. She was born October 19, 1995, in Charlotte, N.C. She attended the Clover, South Carolina school system


Tristian Boyd
Tristian Boyd Preyer is the youngest child of Willie (Pat) Preyer. He was born in 1992 in Charlotte, N.C. He attended the Charlotte Public School system

Charles Preyer was the 3rd third born child to Theola and Prince, Preyer, Sr. he was born October 28, 1942 and died at the age of 16 months on February 28, 1944,


Johnny Preyer, Sr.
Johnny Preyer, Sr is the 4th fourth child born to Theola and Prince, Preyer, Sr. He was born August 8, 1945. Johnny graduated from Union High School in Monroeville, Alabama, and Tuskegee University with a BS and a master’s degree. After relocating to Irvington, Georgia, he dedicated over 34 years to the Wilkinson County Georgia school system until retiring in 2002. He married Lillie Joyce Myrick of Barnwell, South Carolina in 1969 and they have on son, Johnny Preyer, Jr. Joyce also dedicated over 35 years of service to the Wilkinson County School system as a high school social science teacher until retiring in 2003. Both Johnny and Joyce worked for the system part-time after retirement.


Johnny (JP) Preyer, Jr.
Johnny (JP) Preyer, Jr, the son of Johnny, sr. and Joyce was born March 19, 1970, in Irwinton, Georgia. He graduated from Wilkerson County High School in 1988. He received a B.S. degree in mathematics from Georgia College in 1998. He did advanced studies in mathematics at the University of Georgia, Athens. He married Tami Hillman on June 9, 2002, and they reside in Kennesaw, Georgia. J.P. is a computer system administrator with S.P. Richards and Tami is a middle school science teacher in the Cobb County school system


Ann Preyer Warren
Ann Preyer Warren is the 5th fifth and oldest daughter of Theola and Prince Preyer, Sr, she was born on December 30, 1947. She graduated from Union High School, Monroeville, Tuskegee University, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and complete a dietetic internship from the V.A. Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked at the V.A. Hospital in Danville, Illinois as a registered Dietitian. She returned to Alabama after accepting a position at Alabama A&M University to direct the nutrition and dietetics program. Ann completed the course work for the Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has worked 30 years as a profession in the Department of Family and Consumers sciences. Ann married Larry Warren on November 8, 1975, and they have two daughters: Angela Mary-Theola and Andrea Latrice. Larry is employed with the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal as a research chemist.

Angela Mary- Theola Warren, the oldest daughter of Ann and Larry Warren was born on June 17, 1980. she graduated from Huntsville High school in 1998. she completed a B, S. degree in chemistry from Spellman College in 2002 and a master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May 2004. She is employed as an Epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control in Cincinnati, Ohio.


Andra Lartrice Warren
Andrea Patrice Warren, the youngest daughter of Ann and Larry Warren was born on April 13, 1982. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 2000. She is enrolled in her last year at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta and completed the requirements from Spellman College as a part of a dual degree program. In May 2005, she will receive a B.S. in mathematics from Spellman College and a B.S, in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.


Mary Louise Preyer Mayhand
Mary Louis Preyer Mayhand is the youngest child to Theola and Prince, Preyer, Sr. was born on December 31, 1950. Louise graduated from Monroe County High School in Monroeville, Alabama, Tuskegee University, and Alabama A&M University. Louise taught at Headland High School, Headland, Alabama and is a dedicated and efficient family and consumer science teacher at Monroe County High. Louise was married to Lawrence (Larry) Mayhand, Jr. She is known as “Aunt Weezie.” By her nieces and nephews, has always been that special aunt with a lot of love and support.


Charles "CD" Ridgill, Jr.
Charles Ridgill (CD) Ridgill, Jr. graduated from Conecuh County High school, Evergreen, Alabama. He received his Bs degree from Hampton Institute, Virginia. Charles met and married Eunice Sykes while in Virginia. They moved to Los Angeles shortly their wedding. They have four children: Charles, Edward, Calvin, and Bernice.

Charles Ridgill, III. married Donna Page, they have two children: Steven and Jason

Edward Ridgill, married Gloria, they have two children: Johnathan and Edward, Jr.

Calvin Ridgill married Monica Conley, they have four children: Kyle, Karolyn, Marley, and Jonah.

Bernice Ridgill McQueen married Tyrone McQueen and they had twin sons: Carlton and Raymond.


George Ridgill, Sr
George Ridgill, is the 3rd third child born in 1918 to Roberta Marshall Ridgill and Charles Ridgill, Sr. He attended public school in Conecuh County, Alabama. He later moved to Selma, Alabama where he meets and married Gladys. He has two daughters: Viola and Roberta. He later moved to Poughkeepsie, New York and was ordained as a minister of the Gospel. He served as Elder of his denomination for many years. He passed away in 2002.

Nellie Ridgill Stallworth, the 4th fourth child born to Roberta Marshall and Charles Ridgill, Sr. graduated from Conecuh County High School, Evergreen, Alabama. Nellie relieved her Vocational Nursing Training after moving to Las Angeles. CA. She married George Stallworth of Nichburg, Alabama. They were the parents of two children: Roberta and George, Jr.

Fate "FB" McMillan
Fate (FB) McMillan was born May 23, 1923, and passed away in July 2003. Fate was the 5th fifth child born Roberta McMillan and Ezell McMillan. He lived in Burnt Corn most of his life. Fate (FB) joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC Camp) as a young man. He met many friends there. He later lived in Akron, Ohio. He lived with Pauline Marshall McMillan and Tate McMillan. Pauline Marshall McMillan and Roberta Marshall Ridgill McMillan were sisters and they married two brothers; Ezell McMillan and Fate McMillan. Fate (FB) returned to Burnt Corn and later married Ella Mae Stallworth. They were blessed with two daughters: Mildred and Maggie Ruth. Ella Mae died shortly after Maggie Ruth was born. Fate (FB) worked in Mississippi at the shipyard. He also helped build Ed Reid Trade School in Evergreen, Alabama. He retired from Macintyre Saw Mill in Evergreen, Alabama.

Mildred Louise McMillan Griffins was born May 20, 1949. Mildred married Howard Griffins. She lived in East Brewton.


Maggie Ruth McMillan & husband Samuel Morrissette
Maggie Ruth McMillan Morrissette was born July 31, 1950. Maggie graduated from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama and Troy State University. Maggie has taught for twenty-eight years. Maggie is married, Samuel Morrissette. Maggie has on son Roderick DeWayne McMillan.

Roderick DeWayne McMillan was born November 23, 1974. Roderick works at Georgia Pacific. He is married to Toya Bullard McMillan. They have one child, Skylark Nicole McMillan, born May 16, 2001.

Du Bois McMillan
DuBois McMillan was born June 2, 1927, in Akron, Ohio to the late Roberta Marshall Ridgill McMillan and Ezell McMillian. He was raised in Burnt Corn, Alabama, after the death od his father, where he was formally educated. He moved to California in 1947 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1949. After serving in the Korean War, he received an honorable discharge in 1952. Pursuing his childhood ambition of being an Electronix Technician, he entered the Frank Wiggins Trade School and learned electronics.

In 1953, DuBois married Eloise Wiggins of Tunnel Springs, Alabama and to this union, six children were born. His career flourished as an Electronics Technician as he becomes an entrepreneur and dedicated worker for Rockwell International. He was employed by Rockwell International for nearly 40 years. He received many rewards for his outstanding performance on such as the B1 Stealth Bomber and the Space Shuttle at John F, Kennedy Space & Rocket Center.

DuBois and Eloise had seven children: Sonja, Thomas Jeffery, Elbert, Valarie, Terrance, and DuBois Teddy II.

Sanja McMillan is the 1st first child and the daughter of DuBois McMillan and Eloise Wiggins. She has one son, Gregory Lamont Williams and one adopted daughter, Nora.

Thomas Jeffery McMillan is the 2nd-second child of DuBois McMillan and Eloise Wiggins. Jeffery is married to Sabrina. He has three children: Tameca, LaTonya, Thomas Jeffery Jr., and one grandchild, Porsha (Temeca)


Ronnie,Jeffery,Tonya,Sibrena,Tameca,Granddaughter Valarie McMillan is the 4th child of DuBois McMillan and Eloise Wiggins and she has one adopted daughter, Oryonna.

Terrance McMillan is the 5th child of DuBois McMillan and Eloise Wiggins. Terrance is married to Sharma and they have one son, Terrance Jr.

DuBois “Teddy” McMillan, II is the 6th child of DuBois McMillian and Eloise Wiggins. He is married to Dominique and they have three children: Imani, Diane, and sir Teddy.
