White Settlers
White settlers entered Burnt Corn before the end of the 18th century when the Mississippi Territory was open and the U.S. Government requested permission from the Creek Indians to use "horse paths" through their land on their way West. Some white settlers had done trading with the Creek Indians and were allowed to stay. Those white settlers then intermarried with Indians with mixed offsprings. Majority of the settlers came as a result of opening the Federal Road.
