Jane McCarter

Jane is the second child of Fannie (McCarter) Lee. While in Griffen, Georgia, it is believed that Fannie married a man by the last name of "McCarter" It is not known what was his first name. While there, she gave birth to two children, a girl named Jane and a boy named Allen. Jane is sister to Charles the first child of Fannie while she was in Virginia and another brother, Allen while in Griffen, Georgia which he is the third child of Fannie. Jane McCarter is also the sister to Nellie Lee, Fannie's fourth child that was born in Burnt Corn, Alabama while she was married to Joe Lee.

Unfortunately, Jane met the same fate as her older brother Charles and was left behind in Georgia when her mother Fannie was sold to a slave owner in Burnt Corn, Alabama by name of Enoch Salter. After Slavery ended, Jane was able to reunited and visit her mother Fannie in Burnt Corn, Alabama. After Fannie died, Jane lost contact with the family because it was said that she was not included in Fannie's will.
